Position: Junior Communication Specialist

Core Task
You deal with the matters and job orders assigned to you after prior consultation with your line manager. You also respond promptly and competently to matters that fall within your assigned thematic area, where applicable in consultation with experienced specialists, and following consultation remain available to answer further enquiries.
You clearly communicate the relevant requirements, conditions, and restrictions in terms of your capacity to act with due regard for compliance rules and P+R. You deal with the matters and job orders assigned to you with due regard for all the legal, contractual, socio-political, and corporate policy requirements and the instructions of your line manager and follow up the processing and completion of those tasks.
In consultation with experienced specialists, you enter into contracts with due regard for all the legal, contractual, socio-political, and corporate policy requirements and the instructions of your line manager and follow up the processing and fulfilment of those contracts.
You assist in formulating and producing targeted and relevant PR content that is to be disseminated via various internal and external platforms in connection with the objectives of the country office.
You also provide support in developing and implementing the communication strategy and guidelines for internal and external communications that are produced by the divisions and projects in the respective country and help to ensure that they are up to date. Working with experienced specialists, you resolve problems that arise in your area of responsibility on the basis of existing rules and draw attention to more complex challenges in your team. In addition, you deal with all associated matters in your thematic area promptly and competently. You perform the tasks assigned to you by your line manager, where required.
Main Activities
Contributions to internal and external communication platforms such as social media and press releases.
Supporting projects with communication guidelines and compliance according to GIZ rules and standards.
Press reviews and summaries.
Knowledge management: Keeping MS SharePoint folders, GIZ internal platforms and databases up to date ([*****] photo databank, relevant documents, and articles).
Management of the external correspondence of the Country Director.
Assistance of the Country Director with the preparation and documentation of meetings, schedule, and travel logistics.
Required qualifications, competences, and experience.
Qualifications
BA/BSc in communication, political science and/ or economics is also required, as well as sufficient work experience.
Master’s degree in communication, political science and/ or economics is an added advantage.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Professional experience
At least 2 years’ experience of communication work ([*****] social media) in an international organization or international business or media institution.

Experience of work in the development sector an asset.
Excellent written and oral English language skills, IT knowledge for MS Word, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams.
